August 5, 2025

On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, members of the Selden Fire Department proudly took part in National Night Out, hosted by the Suffolk County Police Department’s 6th Precinct at the Centereach Pool Complex, located at 286 Hawkins Road, Centereach.

This year’s event offered a fantastic opportunity for community engagement in a fun, relaxed setting. Our firefighters joined fellow first responders to connect with families and neighbors while offering fire safety tips, demonstrating equipment, and answering questions about emergency preparedness. The evening featured swimming, music, food trucks, and community activities—bringing residents and public safety personnel together for a memorable night of camaraderie.

We extend our deep gratitude to the Suffolk County Police Department’s 6th Precinct for hosting the event, to the Town of Brookhaven and Middle Country Library for co-sponsorship efforts, and to the residents who joined us for a night of connection and community spirit.

Stay vigilant, stay safe—and don’t forget, working smoke alarms save lives; be sure to test yours monthly!
