| This Independence Day is especially meaningful as our nation celebrates the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America. On July 4, 1776, our founders declared that all people are created equal and endowed with the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Two hundred and fifty years later, we continue to honor those ideals and the generations of Americans who have worked to preserve them. As we celebrate America's Semiquincentennial, we reflect on the sacrifices made by those who fought for our independence, defended our freedoms, and served their communities throughout our nation's history. The members of Selden Fire Department are proud to continue a tradition of service that reflects the spirit of dedication, courage, and commitment that has helped define America for 250 years. As you gather with family and friends to celebrate this historic milestone, we encourage everyone to enjoy the festivities safely and responsibly.
