HELP YOUR VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS!

YIELD FOR BLUE LIGHTS!!

 When you see a FLASHING BLUE LIGHT approaching you;

Please PULL OVER & STOP IMMEDIATELY and SAFELY!!

 It will only take a few seconds - but in an emergency seconds count!

Someone in a car with a flashing BLUE LIGHT is either a volunteer firefighter or a member of a fire department ambulance service responding to an emergency.

BLUE LIGHTS DO NOT give volunteers any special privileges. They are courtesy lights only. The BLUE LIGHT is flashing to alert other drivers to the fact that we are on our way to an emergency.  It's up to other drivers to pull over and let us go by!

You can become an important part of our lifesaving team simply by letting us pass.

Your quick action could give us the extra time to save a life or stop a fire before it's out of control.

Within a few minutes, these same people will be responding with red lights and siren.

Please PULL OVER & STOP IMMEDIATELY and SAFELY!!

 It will only take a few seconds - but in an emergency seconds count!

 Someone in a car with a flashing GREEN LIGHT is a volunteer emergency medical services person responding to a fire or medical emergency.

 Just as with Blue Lights, GREEN LIGHTS DO NOT give volunteers any special privileges.

They are courtesy lights only.  The GREEN LIGHT is flashing to alert other drivers that we are on our way to an emergency.  It's up to other drivers to pull over and let us go by!

 Once again, you can become an important part of our lifesaving team by letting us pass.

 Within a few minutes, these same people will be responding a red lights and siren.

  RED & WHITE LIGHTS & SIREN

RED & WHITE LIGHTS ARE USED BY:

 FIRE CHIEFS, FIRE TRUCKS, POLICE CARS, AMBULANCES & MEDIC FLY CARS

Many emergency vehicles now include a blue light with the red in the rear of their light bar.

 When these vehicles are approaching you with lights and sirens on, you MUST
PULL OVER & STOP IMMEDIATELY and SAFELY!!

THESE VEHICLES ARE EMERGENCY VEHICLES AND THE LAW STATES THAT YOU HAVE TO YIELD THE RIGHT OF WAY.
