The Selden Fire Department announces with deep regret the passing of Ex-Captain and Past Commissioner Robert “Bobby” Kreitzman, a dedicated member of the department for 62 years.

Ex-Captain Kreitzman devoted a lifetime of service to the Selden Fire Department, serving the community with commitment, integrity, and pride. At the time of his passing, he was the most tenured active member on the rolls and continued to participate in department functions, remaining a familiar and respected presence even though he was no longer responding to alarms.

His decades of leadership and service left a lasting impact on the department and the community he served so faithfully. He will be remembered not only for his accomplishments, but for his unwavering dedication and the example he set for generations of members.

Firematic services will be held at Giove Funeral Home on Friday, December 19, at 7:45 p.m.

A Mass and burial will take place at St. Margaret’s Church in Selden on Saturday at 9:30 a.m., with burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Coram.

The Selden Fire Department extends its deepest condolences to the Kreitzman family and to all who had the privilege of serving alongside Ex-Captain Kreitzman.
