HOUSE DESTROYED BY SUSPICIOUS FIRE
By Selden FD
January 5, 2009
Just after midnight on January 6th the Selden Fire Department while working on an earlier call of a gas leak were notified by a member of a house fire at 26 Berkeley Ave near Linwood Ave. On scene in under 3 minutes units were met with a fully involved 2 story house which was partially boarded up. The fire had already made it through the roof and was in every room on the top floor. Mutual Aid was called in from Terryville, Centereach and Farmingville. The fire was brought under control in about 1 hour. The Town of Brookhaven Fire Marshall's Office and the Suffolk County PD Arson Squad are investigating the fire.
