Selden Fire Department’s Own EMS Chief Heather Scally-Bartnik was one of Several Keynote Speakers at the “Youth Women in the Fire Service” Seminar.

96 young ladies from 34 Fire Departments across Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester Counties attended the “Youth Women in the Fire Service” Seminar and training. The day started off with a speaker series with some of the most respected female chiefs in NYS. FDNY Battalion Chief Michele Fitzsimmons, Uniondale Chief Jessica Ellerbe, North Bellmore Chief Kaitlin Bazarewski, West Babylon Chief Christine Manzi & Selden EMS Chief Heather Scally-Bartnik. After lunch they participated in Evolutions at the FSA that they picked. Extinguishes, Extrication, Forcible Entry & EMS. This groundbreaking training exceeded expectations. This experience will stay with them a long time. There is no doubt that there are future chiefs among those young women who attended. We would like to thank everybody who participated in this event.
